West Yorkshire’s green technologies and services sector is set for rapid growth with the launch of a new business support programme designed to generate more than £500,000 in sales opportunities.

We have been commissioned by West Yorkshire Combined Authority as part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Levelling Up project to support the growth of low-carbon technology firms. Amy House, Director of Green Economy said:

“This programme presents a unique opportunity for West Yorkshire to accelerate its Climate and Environmental Plan, whilst ensuring the transition to net zero is fair and just.

“Local installers and suppliers stand to prosper, creating local, green jobs if they can access the new markets that net zero presents. At Green Economy, our purpose is to build a greener, net zero economy, powered by local suppliers, but this can only be achieved if we can build confidence in the local sector with a robust network of installers, suppliers and innovators.”

Through fully funded advice from sector specialists, access to market intelligence, peer networking and training, local firms can grow or diversify into the sector safe in the knowledge that they will be supported by our team of consultants. We will introduce these businesses to new sales opportunities with a free profile on their Marketplace – a business directory of local green technology suppliers – and bespoke meet the buyer events and projects.

To launch the programme, local installers and suppliers of green technologies including solar panels, EV charging and fleet, heat pumps, LED lighting and retrofit products are invited to join the programme launch event, taking place on Monday 4 March from 9.00am-midday at Horizon in Leeds city centre. The event will feature presentations from our consultants, local businesses, and the Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracey Brabin.
