Solar Installer Accelerator pilot

The pilot programme took place on 21-25 October 2024. Organised by Green Economy and MCS Certified with local partners, it provided qualified electricians with the skills and knowledge to enter the renewable energy market and run a thriving, solar installation business.

Course contents and benefits

The programme provides:

BPEC qualification in Solar PV and Battery
MCS Certification for 1 x product
Business growth advice from Green Economy consultants
Access to industry experts including: Distributors, Installation Assurance Authority, Solar Energy UK and local installers.

Eligibility

The course was open to any business or sole traders meeting the following requirements:

Have a registered and/or trading address in Greater Manchester.
Be a qualified and competent electrician (18th edition)
Not currently operating in the domestic solar PV market.
Available and committed to attend the full 5-day course (21-25 October 2024 at Stockport College)
Willing to complete all required paperwork including initial registration and final evaluation.
